Brian was born and raised in New Hampshire where he developed his passion for the outdoor lifestyle and environmental studies. Nature was always a place where he could be entirely himself. Today, being outside remains a key part of his daily routine.
For this week’s behind the scene feature, we would like to honor our partnership with the Caladrius Network, a Nevada County-based network that supports parents of catastrophically ill children by providing up-to-date information and therapeutic cannabis products at no cost.
The cultivators behind Medicine Box have been growing Afgoo for almost a decade, so it makes perfect sense that our founder gravitated toward this variety of cannabis to become Medicine Box’s flagship strain. Not to mention the fact that the appellation of the Grass Valley / Nevada City area, commonly referred to as Gold Country, is perfect in its elevation, humidity, long wet winters combined with hot dry summers, and exposure to pure sunlight.
For Medicine Box Monday this week we would like to start introducing our readers to our team. Over the next couple weeks each member from behind the scenes will be featured so you can get to know the specialities and contributions of the creators, and just what lead them to Medicine Box. Our crew thus far has been intimate, which has led us to ‘wear many hats’ in the building of our brand.
In the spring of 2016, I came across an article written by a woman about her experience at something called the “1st Annual Women Grow Leadership Summit”. I had not heard of the Women Grow organization before and knew nothing about their summit, but by the time I finished the article I knew I had to find out more. And I knew I had to be in attendance at next year’s event.
It’s Medicine Box Monday and this week we’d like to share our soil to oil philosophy.

This is our first Medicine Box Monday, so I’d like to take a moment to explain what we’re doing. We’ve spent a lot of time building our brand and developing our products, but we’ve always thought of ourselves as more than just a cannabis company. We have a voice in a grassroots movement and we want to influence that movement to reflect our values and the values of the people we serve.
2016 was a big year for Medicine Box. Sure it’s the year we curated our top notch team, developed our 3 flagship products, established a growing social media presence, not to mention its the year we launched the Medicine Box brand at the NCIA Expo in June. But 2016 was also a big year for Medicine Box because it was a big year for cannabis.
California Cannabis: The bridge that is being being built to bring us out of the shadows and into the light.
Our collective experience brought to you by the Medicine Box Tribe
Medicine Box was founded on the concept of being a collaborative entity and embracing the talent of the many artisans we have the pleasure of working with. As stated in our mission statement: “We are a collective of farms and artisans… hand-crafted, sustainable products…”.
